Monitoring Programme

The Woodmeadow Project is an evidence-based research project.

From Day 1 we have maintained detailed records of the transformation of arable land into woodmeadow at Three Hagges Woodmeadow. You can download (see below) the Three Hagges Woodmeadow Synthesis which outlines how Three Hagges Woodmeadow turned from an arable field to a fully functioning ecosystem.

We use a range of data to assess the success of our habitat creation methodology and the added value of combining wood and meadow, and work with recorders, researchers, independent organisations and universities to record baseline and wildlife data on the following topics:

We draw together all the research and wildlife recording carried out at Three Hagges Woodmeadow and submit relevant data to the NBN (National Biodiversity Network).

All researchers working on the site are signed up to The Woodmeadow Trust protocol.
